Love where you live. This is a phrase that I haven't been able to get out of my head. Full disclosure, I'm way behind on this one. My friend Liz, known for some pretty great yearly mantras, already lived this one out, for a full year, last year. Also, #lovewhereyoulive is already a thing on Instagram. All this aside, it is speaking to me now. Let's break this down:
1. I have lived in Phoenix for over 21 years of my life, but lately it seems like I am constantly learning about a new restaurant, a new place, a new hike, you name it. How have I never eaten, seen, or done all of these things!? More importantly, what I am waiting for? I might not live here forever.
2. I have a tendency, maybe I'm not the only one, to get apathetic, sometimes even negative about a place when I am there too long. Then almost immediately upon moving on, I get overwhelmed by nostalgia and kicking myself for not doing all the things I could have there. It's a vicious, and stupid cycle. There are experiences to be had and beauty to find everywhere.
3. On a deeper level, this isn't just about the physical place you are living. There is love to be found in every season and every aspect of our lives. Let's find it!
